Snow emergency

The weather right now is quite similar to the winters in Stockholm. But one thing that differs a lot when it comes to how to handle it has to do with the cars.

They don’t change their tires during the winter months which means that they have to be extra cautious when it snows, and they are!

Today was one of those days. Right now it’s a “level 2 snow emergency” which means that only those who believe it’s necessary to drive should be out on the roadways.

My yoga class got cancelled (namaste) and Andreas had to check in with his employer to see if there would be any cancellations on practice.

So this is how it looks outside:

This is what the different snow emergency levels means:

Level 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are also icy; drive carefully.

Level 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who believe it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

Level 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one else should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roadways may be subject to arrest.

This site gives you a good idea of how the city is affected by the weather.
